Summer Camps

Summer Camps have arrived! Below, please see the listing of summer camps that will be offered by our faculty and staff this summer.

NOTE: 2024 SMK Teacher Summer Camps Teachers will be sending home permission slips for their camps soon if they have not already. Please reach out to individual teachers with any questions. If you are writing a check, all checks can be made out to the teacher running the camp.

 

Sports Camp with Mr. Smith ([email protected])

  • Grade Level:
  • Dates: Week 1 - June 24-28 Basketball camp incoming 5th to 9th; Week 2 - July 8th-12th All Sports camp incoming 3rd to 7th;  Week 3 - July 15th-19th All Sports camp incoming 3rd to 7th
  • Times: 12 pm-3 pm Monday through Friday
  • Description: Week 1 is basketball camp, weeks 2 and 3 is all sports camp where we play a different sport every day. All sports camp games include handball, hockey, basketball, baseball, and others
  • Price: $160 if paying with check, $150 if paying with cash. Other deals or discounts are included on the camp flyer which Mr. Smith will be sending home with the students.

Creative Cooking Camp with Miss Pellegrino ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 3rd grade through Incoming 6th grade
  • Dates: July 22nd- July 25th (first week), July 29th- August 1st (second week)
  • Times: first week is 12 pm-3 pm, second week is 9 am-12 pm
  • Description: Miss Pellegrino is seeking creative chefs in training to join us for a Creative Cooking Camp! Here, campers will learn the basics of cooking and measurement while cooking up some interesting treats! We will make pizzas, fruit salads, desserts, and much more. Both weeks students can expect to cook different creative treats! Spots for both weeks are limited.

Fairy Tales Camp with Miss Reyes ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 2nd- Incoming 4th Dates: July 15th - July 18th
  • Times: 12 pm-3 pm
  • Description: Students will work on their reading and writing skills, along with their critical thinking and problem-solving skills by reading fairy tales, and creating their own fractured fairy tales, and by using STEM activities to solve problems in classic fairy tales such as building a stronger house for the 3 Little Pigs!

Cultural Camp with Miss Reyes ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 4th - Incoming 6th
  • Dates: July 22nd-July 25th
  • Times: 12 pm-3 pm
  • Description: Welcome to the Culture Camp! Culture Camp meets July 22nd, 2024 through July 25th, 2024 with Miss Reyes. Each day we will focus on different cultures through music, food, videos, movies, and other activities. The goal of Culture Camp is to show the importance of all cultures and experience/learn about different cultures.

Olympics with Miss Reyes ([email protected])

  • Dates: July 29th - August 1st
  • Times: 9 am-12 pm
  • Description: Olympic Camp will meet July 29th,2024 through August 1st, 2024 with Miss Reyes. Students will begin the week with a small history lesson, the story of the Olympic Games, its origin, and how it became the event that it is today. We then will participate in different Olympic games for the rest of the week.

  • Times: 9 am-12 pm
  • Description: Miss Reyes and Miss Pellegrino present Disney Camp! This camp is for every Disney lover. This is a week-long summer camp where each day is themed around a different Disney character. Each day will include crafts, games, movies, activities, and sing-alongs themed around each Disney character.

Kindercamp with Mrs. Bauman & Miss Vincent ([email protected] or [email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming Kindergarten
  • Dates: June 24th-28th & July 1st-3rd
  • Times: 11:30-2:30 (1st week), 9-12 (2nd week)
  • Description: Welcome to St. Mark’s Summer Kinder Camp! During camp, your child will have the opportunity to explore letters, sounds, numbers, and shapes, while also working on our fine motor skills, and engaging in fun daily art projects! The camp will be run by Mrs. Bauman and Miss Vincent, so your child will be able to get comfortable with them before Kindergarten starts. We will follow a routine similar to our daily Kindergarten routine so that everyone starts to get the feel of what we will be doing together. At the end of our two weeks together, your child will be so excited about learning, and will be counting down the days until September! :)

Star Wars Camp with Ms. Ortner ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 3rd-5th graders
  • Dates: June 24th-27th
  • Times: 9:00 am-12:00 pm
  • Description: Come join us for fun, crafts, enrichment, and more!! Make your own lightsaber and join either the light or dark side with us!

Harry Potter Camp with Ms. Ortner ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 3rd-5th graders
  • Dates: June 17,18,20,21 ( NO CAMP WEDNESDAY- in observance of Juneteenth)
  • Times:9:00am -12 pm
  • Description: Come join us for fun, crafts, enrichment, and more!!! Make your own wand and be sorted into houses!!

Fairy Garden/Gardening Camp with Mrs. Provino ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Current Pre-K to incoming 3rd graders
  • Dates: July 29th-August 1st
  • Times: 9 am-12 pm
  • Description: In this fun imaginative summer camp students will create their very own magical fairy world. Students will use their imaginations and creativity to create a fun fairy garden/house, make their own fairy wings, and make a fairy crown and wand. Listen to fairy, read a louds and do some gardening right here in the school yard. Spots are limited.

Underwater adventures with Mrs. Provino ([email protected]) Grade Level: Current Pre-K- incoming 2nd graders

  • Dates: August 5th-8th
  • Times: 9 am-12 pm
  • Description: Join Mrs. Provino and Ms. Schillaci for an underwater adventure camp that includes learning about the creatures in the ocean including fish, octopus, sting rays, and sharks. We will be dancing, crafting, making snacks, and exploring. These are just some of the activities we have planned for the week. We hope you’ll join us! Spots are limited.

Mrs. Patti’s Science Candy Camp ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 5th graders
  • Dates: June 24th - 27th
  • Times: 9 am-12 pm
  • Description: The name says it all! Campers will be given exposure to new science concepts using kids' favorite candy and snack items. We will make candy-launching catapults, conduct pH tests on popular sour candies, make 30 ft soda geysers, and MORE! Campers will leave with not only great memories but a keepsake lab apron and a swag bag! Register soon before this one fills up!

Mrs. Patti’s Fast Forward 4th Grade Camp ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 4th graders
  • Dates: June 17, 18, 20, 21 ( NO CAMP WEDNESDAY - in observance of Juneteenth)
  • Times: 9 am-12 pm
  • Description: This camp allows students to participate in engaging reading, math, and science activities, and also get acquainted with one of next year’s 4th grade teachers. For some students, this can help tremendously in easing some of those back to school, September jitters. Each day will start with a book club format to offer guidance and motivation to get the required summer reading well underway. As with any good book club, food is integral. A home-baked breakfast treat and juice will be offered daily. After each day’s book club time, new ways to practice multiplication facts in card and board game format will be presented. Intriguing science demonstrations and mini-labs will also be part of each day! This camp is jam-packed with productive fun!

Theatre Camp with Miss Vincent ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 6th-8th graders
  • Dates: July 8-11th M-Th & July 15th-18th M-Th
  • Times: 12:30-3:30 pm
  • Description: Students will take on producing a short play from start to finish over the course of the two weeks. Along the way, they will build their confidence, public speaking skills, and abilities to work as a unified group through acting exercises, decision-making, and performing. Students will take on roles such as directing, set design, costume design, and advertising. They will have the opportunity for their creativity to shine through as they make a majority of the decisions in their production.

Theatre Camp with Miss Vincent ([email protected])

  • Grade Level: Incoming 5th graders
  • Dates: July 22-July 25th M-Th
  • Times: 12:30-3:30 pm
  • Description: Students will work to build their stage presence, confidence and team-building skills as they work together to put on a small performance by the end of the week. Students will take on the roles of director, set designer, and costume designer as they create their performance. They will have the opportunity for their creativity to shine through as they make a majority of the decisions in their production.

Mission Impossible Camp- Ms. Gareis and Ms.Gallagher ([email protected] or [email protected])

  • Grade: Incoming 1st- incoming 4th
  • Dates: August 5th- August 8th
  • Time: 12:30-3:30
  • Description: Ms.Gareis and Ms. Gallagher present Mission Impossible! Students will put their detective and spy skills to test through games, activities, and crafts. Campers will complete various daily missions including an escape room, decoding Morse code, spy missions, and much more! All missions aim to teach agents teamwork in a fun way.
