My name is Jessica Riordan, and I am the School Psychologist at St. Mark School. I began my career at SUNY Buffalo, working at the Center for Children & Families, where my primary focus was supporting children exhibiting externalizing behaviors, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). Through working closely with parents and teachers, I quickly realized how much I value collaboration and the positive impact that can come from working together as a team to support children.
I have been working as a School Psychologist since 2010, and I am passionate about helping students develop the skills they need to be successful both academically and personally.
At St. Mark, I am actively involved in supporting the social-emotional well-being of our students. I meet with students individually and in small groups, including during lunch, provide Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons within classrooms, collaborate with teachers to develop classroom-based programs and supports, and work with parents to create behavior strategies that can be successful both at school and at home.
My goal is to build strong relationships with students, families, and teachers so that we can work together to help every student feel supported, confident, and capable of reaching their full potential.
