Math
In Grade 6 math, students receive instruction in four major areas. First, students use the concepts of ratio and rates to solve problems. They also complete their understanding of division of fractions and extend their knowledge of rational number to include negative numbers. They will also spend time writing, interpreting and using expressions and equations. The year ends with developing an understanding of statistical thinking.
Religion
The 6th grade religion program is devoted to the study of God’s saving love as it is revealed in Sacred Scripture, particularly the Old Testament. Students study the patriarchs, the Exodus, the Ten Commandments, period of judges, kings and the prophets throughout their 6th grade year.
